A Biltong Bar is Opening in Cape Town This Summer!

Capetonians rejoice! After a wildly successful online launch of the Biltong Board‘s online subscription service, the two entrepreneurs behind the venture, Sarel Van der Walt and Maxime Eon, are making plans to branch out to open an eponymous stand alone Biltong Bar on Cape Town’s trendy Loop Street. Aimed at biltong aficionados both local and tourist, the bar will feature the pair’s incredible biltong selection along with wine and craft beer pairings. Here are all the details on this unique new Biltong Board Bar set to open soon.

Whether you’re wanting to pop in to buy a take-home bag of your favourite South African snack or you’d like a sit-down experience, the biltong showcased at this modern, trendy sidewalk bar will include classics like beef, Kudu, and Eland biltong as well as the more gourmet Wagyu and prime beef fillet biltong.

But don’t worry, it won’t just be a small snacks and nibbles bar – there will also be a more substantial menu available featuring hearty, baguette-style sandwiches including fillings like mortadella, coppa, prosciutto and Greek bacon biltong. What’s even better is all ingredients for the delicious new spot will be locally and ethically sourced, while all wines and craft beers showcased will be local too.

While the official opening date is yet to be released, we do know it’s set for sometime in September 2017, while we salivate over their Instagram, why not help them out with their crowdfunding campaign in an effort to get the word out there and get the ball rolling on this exciting new foodie venture?
