It’s time for another WomenStuff beauty round up! Every month our beauty desk is inundated with new beauty products to try – from new skincare product releases to fabulous new makeup items and more, there’s always something exciting popping up. So, I decided to put them all together for you in one convenient place so you get all the reviews and news on the latest must-try beauty products without having to sift through a million articles. Most of the products featured here have been personally reviewed by me, so you know they’re aces but I’ve also included some interesting finds that I can’t wait to try. Here are 10 new beauty products to try in February 2017!

These are some of my favourite products from our beauty desk this month – they’ve all been personally reviewed by me and get the WomenStuff stamp of approval!

1. Wet n Wild 1-step Gel

If you’re looking for a long-lasting, affordable gel-like system to use at home then Wet n Wild 1-step gel might be for you! Wet n Wild claims that you’ll get up to 2 weeks of colour and shine when using this product and it definitely lived up to the hype on my toenails! I got a full 2 weeks wear out of the colour after my at-home pedi. I also tried the product on my finger nails and while I didn’t get 2 weeks I did get a full 5 days wear, which for me is a win of note! This product doesn’t need a top coat or base coat and will give you snazzy nails for ages in just one step. But, perhaps the best thing about this product is that it allows you to enjoy a mani for up to 2 weeks without any of the UV damage associated with gel systems.

2. California Tan Instant Sunless Tan

Forget spending hours in the sun increasing your chance of developing skin cancer, California Tan Instant Sunless Spray allows you to achieve a rich bronze glow at home in just minutes. This unique sunless tan-in-a-can allows you to create a flawless tan with absolute ease. The spray nozzle dispenses an ultra-fine mist to ensure even coverage for a natural look without streaks or patches. The formula dries super quickly and is already coloured so you can see how you’re doing as you spray. The fact that the product is a spray allows you to get to hard to reach places more easily and the product looks super natural once applied and dried. I got so many comments on how great my town looked after using this product! It also doesn’t have a strong, oaty smell which is a plus when it comes to self-tan.

3. Max Factor Excess Volume Mascara

Volume, volume, volume! That’s what you’ll get when using this fabulous mascara from Max Factor. I love this mascara because it offers two mascaras in one tube. Indulge your lashes with the ultimate combination of a volumising base, and then an intensifying black lacquer. The product has an intense black pigment and is perfect for day and night use but I prefer to use it when I’m heading out for a night out on the town. To get the most out of this powerful mascara start off by applying 3 coats of the volumising base, allowing the mascara to dry between coats, whilst the mascara is still tacky, apply 1 coat of the intensifying lacquer to intensify and seal the look.

4. Elegant Touch After Dark nails

Another great find for nails is the new Elegant Touch After Dark press-on nails in a coffin shape. These oh-so-sassy nails are the perfect fit for a night out on the town and will definitely turn heads. I love stick-on nails for those days when you need a quick nail makeover in no time at all. I often wear them for special events when I don’t have time to go to the nail salon. For me, Elegant Touch is the best press-on brand out there at the moment and they last a good few days if you look after them properly.

5. 3Ina Colour Mascara

Dare to go bold with Colour Mascara by 3INA. Designed to volumise and thicken eyelashes without clumping this daring mascara is a party gal’s best friend. The soft long-lasting and waterproof formula gives you hours of wear whether you’re heading out for the day or dancing the night away. Available in eight bold shades this mascara is the ideal way to make a statement this month. I tried the Skyline Blue Mascara and was quite impressed. This colour is perfect for anyone with hazel or green eyes and is easy to use with both natural everyday looks and more striking party looks. You’ll need a few coats to create a voluminous look with this mascara and it doesn’t pop as much as I thought it would on my dark lashes so I would recommend starting with a base of a transparent mascara (also available at 3INA) or white mascara before applying this coloured one.

6. L.A. Girl Inspiring Eyebrow Kit

L.A. Girl has released three eyebrow kits for ladies looking for the ultimate tools for perfect brows. These defining eyebrow kits come in light, medium, and dark and have everything you need to tame and frame those brows. Each tin is packed with two brow powder shades, a flattering highlighter shade and a clear wax to keep brows in place. The Brow Kit also includes tweezers and a double-sided brush with angled brush and spooler brush. I’m using the medium kit at the moment and found the two colours in the kit are great for blending and creating a natural looking brow. While I love the 2 colours, highlighter, and wax in the kit I found the brush included to be for emergency use only. The angled brush is a bit too stiff to use everyday. But, having said that, I carry this kit around everywhere I go and love having everything I need in one convenient little vintage-looking tin.

7. 3Ina Nail Polish

I absolutely love the 3INA nail polish! This lovely polish comes in a super wide range of colours (no really, there are almost too many to count!) and I’m in love with so many of them. The colours are unique and hard to come by anywhere else in SA. If you’re all about colour then you’ll love this range! My favourite colour in the range so far is this stunning lilac-grey colour (110). The polish is smooth and glossy and a flat-top style brush makes it super easy to apply. I used a gel top coat after applying this polish and got a beautiful finish that lasted a week. 3INA also has a gel-like top coat but I have yet to use it so I can’t comment on how well it works.

8. Mii Forever Eye Crayon

I haven’t had this much fun with a crayon since pre-school! I loved this eyeshadow crayon from the very first time I used it and was super impressed with the highly pigmented colour. You see colour from the very first swipe and the creamy yet feather-light shadow is beyond easy to blend. The rounded tip of the product allows for easy application and the product glides on effortlessly across the whole eyelid. There are a wide range of colours available and you can use one or more colours from the range to create endless looks, from subtle to smokey. I love the Rose Gold colour for a shimmery, smokey night look but there are loads of more subtle colours available for day-wear as well.

Things I Love this Month

While I haven’t had a chance to review the products below they are definitely on my radar for summer. These products and places range from the oh-so-cute to the down-right brilliant. You’re bound to find something you’ll love and want to try.

9. Smittens Smart Mittens

If you hate using makeup remover and want to use less product on your skin then you might want to consider buying a Smitten smart mitten. These facial cleansing cloths are gentle and durable and can be washed up to 200 times while still maintaining their effectiveness and softness. The cloth absorbs 7 times its own weight in moisture and dries 3 times faster than any other cloth. The Smitten allows you to deep cleanse the skin and remove makeup (even waterproof makeup!) without tugging and pulling on the skin.
